Although there wasn't a whole lot of music in the house when I was very young, I began writing songs before I hit my teens. Over the course of the years, I managed to rack up about a thousand or so - most of which were written in my late teens and early twenties, when I didn't have anything better to do and was usually pumping out 80-100 per year. (Hey, I'm not saying all of them are good enough to publish, but that's the numbers.)
Music is something that I have drifted in and out of as my priorities have shifted. Sometimes I have gone for several months where I did absolutely nothing with it, but it's something I have always come back to. It has always been an important outlet for me, and I enjoy it a great deal. I certainly don't have the talent or self-discipline to be a professional musician (which was a dream at a couple of points in my life), but music remains a worthwhile and enjoyable pursuit, and has become a rather serious time investment again over the past couple of years.
You can find some music-related stuff (including free audio downloads) via the links below. More significantly on the music front, note the following:
- pactummusic.com, which is the retail music outlet for my publishing company. You can purchase my first anthology collection there (The Early Years [1980-1983]), and further forthcoming ones. In addition, Metanarrative will also be available there;
- speaking of which, note the project site, metanarrative.net.
I also have a site at SoundClick, so you can download select stuff over there.
